Van Gogh's Wheat Field with Lark

The scene of wheat fields with lark is portrayed in this fine art tapestry. Van Gogh painted this scene in the fields outside Asnieres in 1887 and we see the wheat stalks at their full height in the winds of an approaching storm. The sense of movement is not only apparent in the impressionistic style of the entire scene as well as the imminent sense of movement in the wheatfield in the howling weather. The ascensing lark has been a trafitional symbol of happiness, and it is thought that it may reflect Van Gogh's love of painting scenes of nature and the outdoors. The golden tones in the foreground compliments the greens of the wheat and the luminous blues of the shifting sky.
