Godspeed III tapestry shows a work based on a 1900 painting of a lady and her knight by Edmund Blair Leighton (1853-1922). Here we see the lady's gorgeous golden garment and the knight's red riding robes in a setting of stately, solid stone architecture. The scene is illuminuated with iridescent light infusing the scene with a masterful use of light so typical of the works of Leighton. The balance of color and composition in this piece is beautiful and hints at the underlying story behind the subtle exchange between the golden haired maiden and her galant heroic man of the day about to embark on his journey. The scene shows the romanticism of the middle ages era, and the gallantry of the knights of the royal kingdom. This Godspeed III tapestry is backed with a lining and a tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rods and tassels, where pictured, are not included in the price.
