In this medieval tapestry The Accolade we see the famous scene by Edmund Blair Leighton. The works of Leighton specialised in medieval subjects. His works show a great beauty and a romanticism of life in the Middle Ages. Here we see the ceremony of knighthood, where the Queen is placing the sword on the knight's right shoulder. The other members of the court are seen in the background watching the scene, and the scene is illuminated in a gorgeous light on the main subjects. The Accolade tapestry is backed with lining and tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rod and tassels, where pictured, are purchased separately.
