This landscape tapestry Verdure Ferrieres is based on an extraordinary design originally woven in 1718 by the workshops of Reydams in Brussels. In this scene of the forest in Spring, we see a river cascading through a forest of trees and flowers in green, blue greens and balanced by the colors of the wild flowers. This is a classic verdure scene which portrays the beauty of nature and the forest environment which was and still is a favorite scene which has inspired the design of tapestries and art from the 17th and 18th century in France, known as "verdures". This scene has exceptional balance in composition as well as color to satisfy the senses and the imagination. Verdure Ferrieres tapestry is backed with a lining and has a rod pocket for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rod and tassels, where pictured, are purchased separately.
