This tapestry "Fruit Tree (Arbe Fruitier)" shows a fruit tree in medieval style. This work is from the famous wall-hangings of the Apocalypse d Angers, produced at the end of the 14th century by Nicolas Bataille, for the Duke Louis 1st of Anjou. This work was based on the cartoons of Hennequin of Bruges, a famous painter from the Flemish school of Bruges, and was a painter and servant to Charles V. In this distinctive work, we see the brightly lit leaves of the fruit tree, and stylised tree trunk and roots. The use of color is beautifully balanced in this work, from the bright leaves to contrast with the dark blue night sky and brown shades of the tree trunk. This medieval wall tapestry "Fruit Tree (Arbe Fruitier)" is backed with a lining and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
