Angels by Raffael – Right – Cushion Cover

The right cherub from Raffael’s most famous work, the Sistine Madonna, is shown in this gorgeous cushion cover. One of the greatest Renaissance artists, Raphael Sanzio, born in 1483, created the famous Sistine Madonna, an oil painting altarpiece commissioned ope Julius II for the San Sisto church. Of all his pieces, this portion of this work is perhaps his most well-known ever. Here, we see the right cherub, watching on as the Madonna above in the original work floats over clouds. It was thought that Raphael based his work on seeing 2 children in a baker’s shop looking wistfully out. This piece brings whimsy as well as gorgeous Renaissance art to any room or home.
