Budding Artist

Budding Artist tapestry shows a child drawing, the work of artist Lucelle Raad. The innocence of this piece is beautiful, as is its colors. The child in his sneakers, is drawing with chalk on the ground. The surrounding colors are in beautiful beiges, rose and violets. The play on light is just lovely in this piece, as his hair is shining gorgeously as are the creases on his clothes. Raad’s work focuses on the subject of children and are beautiful and reminiscent of the wonder of childhood. Raad was born in England, then lived in South Africa, before moving to Long Island, then settling in Sarasota, Florida. Her works are now regularly published in the Oarkwest Gallery in Michigan.
