Hands and Horses

This unique tapestry “Hands and Horses” shows a scene from the cave of Pech Merle in France, the original paintings of which are estimated to be over 24 000 years old. This fragment shows hands imprints and horses from these caves, which are a distance of 35 miles east of Cahors. Extending over a mile from the cave’s entrance there are dramatic murals of animals including mammoths, horses, reindeer, hand prints and footprints. This wildlife tapestry “Hands and Horses” is backed with a lining and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
