Kiss Captured

Kiss Captured tapestry shows the Kiss based on the work of Gustav Klimt. An artist from Austria in the Vienna Secession movement, Klimt (1862 – 1918) was fascinated by the subject of this woman shown in the Kiss as well as his other works such as the Accomplishment. Here in the kiss, we see the woman in an embrace receiving a kiss. Her expression is dreamy and relaxed, and is surrounded by symbolism of stars on her hair, and patterns to decorate her garments. The color palette is sumptuous and decadent with golds, red, blues, browns and blacks. The use of pattern by Klimt was unlikeany other artist and pushed the boundaries of art beyond the traditional ideas of beauty and aesthetics. The Vienna Secession movement of art was all about the evolution of art from the traditional into the new uncharted territories. Kiss Captured tapestry is unlined and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
