La Manta’s Fresco – Left tapestry shows a detail based on the famous fresco by Master of La Manta (1420). It depicst the Nove Prodi, or the Nine Worthies, as personifications of the valued attributes and virtues as well as their female counterparts, that were admired in the Middle Ages including Godfrey of Bouillon of the first Crusade. Also known as Maestro del Castello della Manta, an anonymous painter, this master portayed these figures in the Castello della Manta. This tapestry is backed with a lining and a tunnel for easy hanging.
