La Prise de Lille IV

La Prise de Lille IV tapestry shows a scene of Louis XIV originally based on the work of the Gobelins tapestry manufactory in the 17th century. In this work also known as l’Histoire du Roi, shows a scene of the French town of Lille during the Spanish invasion of 1667, with the nobility in all their elaborate gear, on horseback in the French countryside on higher ground which overlooks the city in the background. The detail is exquisite in all the leaves in verdure style, their luxurious garments and in the intricate floral border. This French themed tapestry comes complete with a rod pocket tunnel for easy hanging.
