Magnolia Crimson tapestry is based on the work of artist Igor Levashov. Here we see a luscious representation of the famed magnolia flower which was named after Pierre Magnol, a French botanist in the late 17th century, who’s major contribution to the botanical sciences was the invention of the use of plant families to classify plants accurately. The magnolia tree has large beautiful flowers in a variety of colors including white, creams and pink. Magnolia flowers in particular are thought to be one of the most primitive flowers resembling the most early forms of flowers bearing many stamens and pistils, and with the stamens arranged in a spiraling row. They resemble water lilies which are even more primitive form of flower. The magnolia flower is also known for its beautiful fragrance. This tapestry “Magnolia Crimson” is unlined and has a tunnel for easy hanging.
