Salamandre Cushion Cover

Salamandre tapestry cushion cover shows the emblem of King Francois I. The King took pleasure in embellish his castle with the symbol "F" as well as the salamander. It can be seen in the beautiful Chambord castle. Francois I used this castle as a place to stay on hunting trips. The salamander as a myhtical creature, is a creature which can breathe fire to fight enemies, as well as its cold body to extingguish them. Here we see the salamander with all its detail on its body's armament, in a rich red background, breathig fire, beside the royal crown.
