The Adoration of the Magi III

Based on the work of William Morris, this piece shows the birth of the Magi, with the adoring wise men. Here in The Adoration of the Magi III, the true mille fleur design based on the work of Morris, we see a gorgeous scene of a theme explored by William Morris in the industrial era in the Victorian ages. In his ideals of individual design and unique decor, Morris sought to produce works with his very own style of florid detail and stylised representations of forests and nature. Here we see the wonderful detail not only in the garments of the wise men as well as the holy family, we also see this obsession with detail in the forest and foliage which decorates the entire scene. The angle also visits and adds a holy presence in this nativity scene. This tapestry “The Adoration of the Magi III” is backed with a lining and tunnel for easy hanging.
