The Virgin II – Klimt

The Virgin II – Klimt tapestry is based on the painting by Gustav Klimt completed from 1913. This piece shows a surreal scene of women in entangled embraces. His work in this piece shows an incredible almost detached relationship with reality and represents the virgin with a scene of women and their gowns in an elaborate design dictated by fanciful design and geometric arrangement of his subjects in layers.
