Religious art varies in their style from the times of the Renaissance where the Adam and Eve tapestry, the Last Supper tapestry, and other biblical scenes as well as epic scenes of angels and heaven, were depicted in their high Italian Renaissance style.
The Last Supper, considered both pure Renaissance art as well as a religious work, has been the subject of much commentary and conjecture as the symbolism in this piece.
The reference to the holy trinity with triangular forms in the composition, is very prominent yet may not be obvious to some.
