This Orchid chenille tapestry shows a single bloom in beige in a dark background. Based on botanical illustration, we see a study of the leaf and bloom, with calligraphy as a background feature. The color tone is close to sepia, though is less red in tone. This work is a testament to the botanical art which dominated the 18-19th century as scientific discovery and curiosity equaled that of artistic endeavor. This Orchid tapestry is backed with lining and tunnel for easy hanging. Note: tapestry rod and tassels, where pictured, are purchased separately.
